Can anybody give me any guidance on whether my problem is petrol starveation or electronic?
Whilst taking the mrs to airport yesterday morning we went up pool bank towards yeadon in a queue of traffic the G starting loosing power ie maximum speed approx 25mph, having to stop at traffic lights the car ran very rough and stalled, It started straight away and seemed to run without too much power with my foot right down. At the top of the bank the G picked up and now runs Ok!
I have read somewhere but cannot seem to find the link that it could be a petrol filter, can someone please help TIA - Bill

the fuel filter does need changing every year or two at the most, or more depending on the fuel throughput and hours of operation, but you're not likely to exceed that in normal operation. if you look under the forum section for Petrol, and browse the past pages, I think you'll find the topic discussed.
here's the general location and part numbers (in the rear passenger side wheel well, access is a bit tight, but you can remove it off the rubber mountings and pull it out, and jack the wheel up for more clearance)

ps. might be worth getting a few of the washers too, as the old ones might not re-seal when you put them back (though the filter comes with one or two)

Was your fuel level low at the time, going up the hill? If so, what was the fuel gauge reading?
Check out the Distributor cap and rotar arm.
Come back with more input please.

Hi M2dxb/Rakesh
The previous owner had changed the plugs, leads, and distributor cap and rotar arm.
Tank approx ¼-½ full, do not know what the fuel gauge read though, my wife was complaining about our speed and getting to airport in time!
Thanks Bill

An update on my problem if I have one!, Filled up last night, fuel indicator approaching empty but not on reserve, on releasing petrol cap there was quite a a high air escape from the tank, I think this is normal? does this prove the pumps are working?
Cheers in advance - Bill

I can see two reasons, either fuelsystem's charcoal filter has come to its end or you have the problem inside your tank(return hose has broken off). You can find the solution for the latter from this link(last post): http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.php?tid=10778&posts=1...
