Tempting to join you all, I must make a choice between Green Laning in herts essex and all those choices of food, or F3 GT in Monza and all that Italian food and wine.
Ive thought about it, enjoy yourselves.

Sorry - can't make that as I am to be 'Harry Potter/Hagred / Hermione/ or some such character ' at my Daughters PTA the night before, and as Clare is on the PTA committee, I have been 'Volunteered' to stay behind and help clear up. (Oh Bollxiamus)

3 / 4 is reccomended as enouigh by GLASS in one group on a lane, more becomes obtrusive. Where in Rio Mark, I could go in your place. :D

No Bill you have Monza to attend to and I have friends I have been meaning to visit in Brazil so it only makes sense if I go to the beach party for him.

OK - I am over in Hungary at the moment, and reading through the posts - looks like its gonna be a fun time and it would be nice to meet the 'HU55' and take a look at his 460 ( :P ) and show him a REAL G (500 ahem!v :P :P )

Let me get back (Friday midday) and check with Mrs Spider, as it could be me and Francesca (daughter 1). BTW She has asked if Dentsmithy will be there (Chris you have a real fan down here!)

Just to confrim kick off is 10 at Clavering - If I do get back late and then do come along apologies in advance for being grumpy!

Re: Herts / Essex boraders green lanes

Looks like there may 6 or 7 G's. If it's a sunny day,and theres a lot of bobble hats around, we can split up into 2 groups and meet up at certain points to raid Hus's pic nic hamper. We will just have to assess the situation when we are there.

Green laning code of conduct.

I haven't done these lanes, and we will be following a TOR road book, if we come across any bits that look a bit scratchy or damaging, then it's up to you to make the decision on whether to continue or turn back. Just because you see Hus ragging his truck through trees, leaving Ruby Red paintwork everywhere, doesn't mean you have to follow.

Each lane will only be a few miles long, so it should be fairly easy to meet up at the end of a lane if anyone wishes to miss a bit out, and then continue to the next.

Re: Herts / Essex boraders green lanes

looks like a wet weekend :P

i have always loved a clean car. i dont mind what i drive but its gotta be clean and all my friends and family both here and cyprus know this only too well.

but i must confess, i have often left my previous G's caked in mud so bad that there were bits of twig and small stones stuck on the paintwork too , although i guess some of you find it hard to believe. infact i have photos of my G is such state. i even caught someone trying to write 'please wash me' on the rear panel above the diesel cap  i wasnt too impressed and he realised!

well, i look forward to the sunday meet. [ i have just charged up the batteries in my sony digital camera.]

is fred coming or not, he seems very quiet recently :?

why hasnt anyone invited Isa :?:

Don't you even consider checkening out at this stage, it's not like we're joining Cliff on some proper welsh lanes. These lanes are going to be like motorways compared to the off roading in Northern Cyprus. And besides, i'm looking forward to the home cooked dolma's, + Fred is flying down as well!.

Re: Herts / Essex boraders green lanes

Well.....

First Thanks Mark for organising things.

We saw this Cherry red G all lost and forlorn as we pulled off the M11 and guess what, it was HU55, who er, um was demonstrating to all the other cars that he could drive very slowly around a round about simulation some one who was lost! Enter the not quite firing on all V8 cylinders, the Spider Mobil to show him the way.

All collecting in the Fox and Hounds car park, welcome BTW to Elliott (and his son Harvey) in their SWB 460?, already there was Mr. Perfect and his wonderful partner (Dee) and his other treasure the mighty 5.6!, Max was there, Mark (of Course) Hu55, myself and fashionably late was Shawny and his crew.

From my perspective everyone in the Spider Mobile had a great time. The Green lanes were timid at first, but then got progressively tougher as we went through the day. Francesca simply loved driving up the longest Ford in the UK (as did we all!) although Max did have to take it rather carefully (something to do with the air intake), but we all managed to get to the end and have a great lunch. Then it was off for some serious ‘Fording’ (well the first one was a doddle, then after a rather securitious route we made the Big Mama’s!

Three of the deepest Fords I have ever done…… Well I know now I have to get two f the doors seen to as there was a little ‘residue’ left from a really great day!

Chris, Francesca missed you.
Mark, Many, many thanks for your help and being team leader
All – it was great to see you all again and meet some new members
Tom - thanks for the text, yes we did have a great day, you should come up next tim and tag along!

Looking forward to the next one!

Re: Herts / Essex boraders green lanes

Good days laning, thanks to everone for coming along. Fairly easy lanes, but the fords certainly made up for that. Max did a great job of navigating through the long ford, and we had to talk him out of doing the last one... No one was gonna talk spider out of doilng it though, followed by Shaun and Hus, like ducks to water. Fish killers!!

Thanks to Hus for bringing along a huge pot of the best Dolma's i've tasted, very nice. I did notice that you shot of at the end of the day, without sharing the rest out
