Rear Bumper with Step
Hello everyone It's good to finally be a proud owner of a 1989 300GD LWB G it's been a long time coming. My rear bumper is very rusty and in need of replacing. I am looking for a new or second hand rear bumper with step. Would be very much appreciated if any one could help.

Hi Joseph if your G' is a 1989 model 460 it should have a bumper section on each side of the towhitch with the number plate mount on the near side section...could have been modified to a G' model 463 bumper in which case it is one piece with the number plate in the middle.....
Unless you have one of the rare mid numberplates for 460;

I have a new modified Merc panel mid panel and ebay had someone selling a driver's side 1/4 to match it.. but that still would leave a passenger's side 1/4 to match it to be found.
Trouble is the modified Merc mid panel does not let you use the stock towbar and socket :cry: (so I am doing my own mounting). The original mid panel was better but still was not perfect. These are not compatible with the standard 1/4 bumpers which are rounded in the middle compared to the square cut ones required.
Hi guys sorry all a bit new to this. it is a 460 ch No, I have the two bumpers either side of the tow bar with the number plate and light on the near side with corner and the same the other side. so looking for one that goes straight across if poss. i will send a picture thanks for getting back

a 463 model G' wagon rear bumper might suit your purpose..but it will reduce your very original G' to non-standard..you can get a rectangular pad/step with chequerplate grip that fits onto the top of the offside bumper which does not detract from the original bumper configuration......
I like the sound of that where could I get one?
Hi the step shows as a separate item on my MB microfiche ...might be GBP 30 or less from MB.......
