tire choice for attik alloys
whats the minimum width i could fit onto a set of 7.5J attik alloys?
i am looking into buying a set of aggresive patterned 225's ,but not sure of what profile would best match the original rolling radius?
i am after an agressive tread pattern without 'torque zapping' width or height
[these insa turbo tires have been taking my fancy  ]
rgds hus.

Get the INSA Turbos or FEDIMAs in 235/85R16 and never look back!
I am using Cooper Discoverer ST/C 245/75 R16 on the same rims as yours. The size is fine. They are a bit extreme but their performance is very good in the rough.
In my limited knowledge 235 is a bit on the narrow side for your rims: you should be careful not to damage them (but then again I have to bow to Torrero's superior experience).
Maybe 265/75 R16 would have been even better for my very heavy and powerful G500 but in the end I opted for the narrower tread.
PS: Just do not drive like a madman on tarmack
Hi Huss,
Any harm to ask what are they going on? Your 460 cabrio or a set for the 463 or for a friend?
On this rare occasion I would have to disagree with Morty. Personally I think the 235 section is a tad too narrow for the 7.5J rim and if you want to fit an agressive patterned tyre you seem to be leaning towards off roading them. Using lower than road air pressure they could pop off the rim. Another consideration is they would allow the rims to be easily damaged.
My vote would be with either a 245/75x16(at a min.) or at a max. a 265/70x16 (easily sourced).
Tyre choice is your decision ---- have fun.
Regards,
Mike
Sorry Huss.
Just went to the shed to check (something was bothering me).
My tyres are Cooper Discoverers of the STT variety and NOT ST/C.
In addition, the larger size I was referring to was 265/70 R16 and not 265/75 R16: The later would have made the tyre diameter too large for comfort when compared to OE @ 30,52 inches...
One should always check and then check again...
Huss,
On road, a little more road noise than the old road biased mich's but surprisingly not much. Wouldn't want to throw into any corners though
Had them on for 18 months, great mud tyre, have found to be reasonable on road, only thing is I have needb to re-learn cadence braking, otherwise lots of noise and sliding not much stopping  run rings round other 4x4's in the mud with the diff locks on :D
Doh, fogot to mention mine are Insa Turbo's......
will be sending a set out to cyprus this summer!
whats your mate with the cab running on?
they look like insa's...what size are they?
They are Fedima Extreme 7.50R16
Highly recommendable....

You guys are quite right... 235s are a bit too narrow for a 7.5x16 rim.
But I still recommend the Insas or the Fedimas if 100% off-road is what Huss wants to do...
Yeah,
Now your suck'in diesel man!
Good choice Huss. I've always said if you throw enough muck at the wall some of it is bound to stick.
Messin aside they will perform on those rims far better than the 235 tyre especially if you lower the pressures when off roading. Less chance of a popoff.

Mike
PS looking forward to some pictures.
