Total Off Road Magazine
For those of you interested in subscribing to Total Off Road Magazine, they are now offering GWOA Members 20% off of the regular subscription price!
Please visit the Member Offers Section for more details.
Dear Mr. Smart,
Thank You for notifying us of this wonderful offer which I am most interested in.
However You might also add to your post that this offer is only open to club/forum members who are based in the UK.
For everyone else, just pay the full price and shut up seems to be this magazines attitude.
Any help you might be able to give in this matter I'm sure would be appreciated not just by me but by many of your fellow "oversea's" members also.
I look forward to the fruits of your labours.
Regards,
Mike
Hmmm
I wonder does it include Ni
I never can understand all those adverts for car insurance, beamed from a NI based transmitter ?
which say
"Not available in Northern Ireland"
Mind you I was spitting blood a couple of years ago when I responded to several adverts in the N I issue of the yellow pages for car insurance.
Only to be told -- yes -- you'v guessed right
-- Not applicable to N Ireland
Now was any / all of that related to Mike's gripe
Hi Marcus,
It wasn't really a gripe. I do appreciate the discounts provided by club membership and Tim's work involved in setting it up.
But, as committee members will know the club has a growing amount of non UK based members and it would be nice if the offer included us.
I am not expecting the postage cost to be the same as the UK and am willing to pay whatever is applicable to my area. But the offer should be the same as the UK members get excl. specific postage costs.
Any help would be appreciated to make this offer apply to all members.
Regards,
Mike
PS Have only been reading the magazine in the last few editions and have found it very informative re: offroad scene. OH, and am paying 7.78euro over here for it.
I have e mailed TOR asking the question.
Will let you know when i have a reply.
Thank you Tyreman.
Hi Mark,
Any word back from those nice publisher people.
Would another email help them along with their very difficult and far reaching ethical decision making?
Regards,
Mike
PS Thanks for help to date.
No reply to my e mail, i'll see what a phone call can achieve. Knowing my skills on the phone, i think we're all going to be charged 20% extra
Hi Mark,
I know you have better things to be doing with your spare time, but did you get a chance to communicate with those very busy publisher people? I only ask as it would be nice to sign up before the next edition and let the savings begin.
Regards,
Mike
To whom it may concern,
Re: Total off road mag (ex UK only)
I know this is a busy time of the year work wise for Mark so when I hadn't heard back anything from the publishers through him, I knew he was under pressure.
I took it upon myself to ring them and spoke to a very nice helpful girl called Katherine.
Initially told no offers to outside UK, so price normally to Southern Ireland would be £48.00
Normal price to UK customers would be £39.00 but with this offer its now £29.00
So for being resident here in Ireland postage is costing me £9.00 excess.
(£48.00- £39.00= £9.00)
So continuing to argue my case I am willing to pay £29.00 + £9.00 =£38.00 to recieve the mag.
I know all this has been stated previously but its easier to read it all together.
Eventually they agreed so precedent has now been established. I have paid my £38.00 for my subscription.
Hope this info is of use to someone else out there.
Regards,
Mike
WHY BOTHER WITH THESE MAGAZINES. They never test G wagens on the annual reviews. Off course we all know WHY?
Every once in a wonder there is mention of g wagens. Although not very often. I think the last time was the article on Tony's creation and before that was the bit on Allan Gibsons two.
On the subject of subscriptions to the mag. I signed up to receive it by post. It now takes 2 weeks to get here whereas my local newsagent has it within 2 days of its publish date. Contacted the office but no change since.
Overall I do find it entertaining when it gets here.

Mike

This is MBUK at fault. Magazines test whatever car they get from importers/manufacturers on loan and it just happens that as far as MBUK is concerned, the GWagen does not exist after 1998. They are a bit backwards, aren't they?
