Do these tyres require tubes or are they tubeless?

Thanks in advance.

Re: XZLs

Tubeless and will work better tubeless using low air pressures in the sticky stuff than with a tube.

Re: XZLs

Thanks

One more question, other than size, are there variants on the XZL? I have asked for the 4x4 O/R XZL 7.50 R 16C. I have been quoted £128 each fitted by a branch of Tyre plus. I am going to see if ATS will match it.

Any comments on Tyreplus would be appreciated.

Re: XZLs

One last question for Tyreman, do you know the speed rating for these tyres?

Re: XZLs

Hi,
load rating 114/116 @ 75psi = 1180kg load per tyre
Speed rating N = 87mph
xcl older pattern , xzl 4x4 o/r mentioned by you is newer pattern & more road friendly.

Mike

Re: XZLs

Thanks Mike. I think they are the ones to get for my 5.5 rims. I assume that if i give the product code set out above I will get the new ones.

Re: XZLs

Those tyres are expensive, also consider Goodyear G90 in the same size or as a wider equivolent 235/85x16 BF Goodrich Mud T/A as fitted by Merc on the same rim for the forces.

The world is full of options.

Mike

Re: XZLs

I wanted the 235 but BFG do not advise them going on a rim less than 6". I am on 5.5". I know they will fit but don't want to get caught out with the wrong tyres on my rims. That is the only reason. Thanks for all your help.

Re: XZLs

Dan, They will fit, I tried it today with a pair I had in stock. The BFG A/T looked a bit pulled in on the rims due in no small part to their square profile but running at 25psi were flat to the road. The BFG Mud T/A looked fine, no problems with the same air pressures. On the road they looked purposeful.
Didn't drive with any of these fitted as they were new stock.

At the end of the day the decision is yours.

Mike

Re: XZLs

I agree with Mike... BFG M/T 235s are widely fitted in the 5.5x16" rims by GWagen users all over Europe and I have never heard a negative comment about it.

Re: XZLs

I now have the 750 x 16 XZLs, and must say they are great. I have already tested them out through some deep ruts and mud. Went through everything with no problems.

I got these as I particularly liked the look of them on Cliff's soft top.
