just stumbled onto this matt black G as i was looking for pics of G's with black alloys
http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.slamxhype.com/images...
I've got 5 litres of that paint and have been tempted for some time now
what an expensive bicycle stand lol
very black Ops .................
Twodogs
batmobile black
Wooh, Ain't seen one like that before! Could it be satin black or maybe its the lights.
Regards,
Mike
turns out it's in hong kong..and indeed nicknamed the batmobile
http://www.hypebeast.com/blog/artoo?page=9 scroll down a bit
i wonder if that's stuck-on or painted
Stealth G.
I think it's owned by the guy who runs a skateboarding shop in HK..... What is it with skateboarding and money?
found it! the company that does with sticky foil it in dubai :p no relation (yet)

maybe it's what they drink..them skateboarders, or what they eat?
That is pretty neat - I wonder how much it costs. I fancy a matt black G with hutchinson beadlocks for awhile.....
Watched an interview on the site, they asked them about price, and they quote about £2.5k for hi-end SUVs for the whole car matt treatment, while for low-end applications where they don't have to be so careful (taxis) it's about £500 (UAE rates). 1 year guarantee in hot weather, 5 years in Europe. Completely removable too.
cheaper to get it repainted
That matt paintjob really turned me on. Thats indeed really cool and yes Mortison, it would really look sweet with the hutchinson wheels on it.
:P

yes but this isn't permanent..you know how some supercar owners like fancy paintjobs but when they come to sell it on, no one shares their taste, hence the car takes a bigger hit in depreciation..well with this one you can "undo" the paint job without too much difficulty

It wasn't me.... it was that dude Maxwell Smart
so basically the same treatment as the German taxis get, peel it off when finished and hey we got unblemished paintwork.
"honest guy it was owned by a little old lady who only took it out on Sundays"
I Must say - I am really falling for the Mat Black finnish...... however waht I can not fathom out is the black indicators... can you see then when they are used??
hmmmmm - upgrade the stero or matt black 8)

Hus55,
Like the thoughts but, and I can't quite put my finger on it, kids, sandpaper, paint and diesel just dont do it for me! :)
I bumped into an old work collegue of mine today, he took one look at my car and said - 'I love that car, I was using them back in the mid 80's when I was in the army - crossing the borders' and then proceeded to give me a low down on what I thought was an urban myth of east/west germany.....
He then showed me some pictures - which I no have and will bring them around when we all next meet.
I did ask why they did not use LR's or RR's answer - NOT tough enough!
Go G's Go! 8)

wow.. that's a lot of money..
good paintjob cost about 1/4 of that amount here in indonesia.
i think if your G is already black, don't you just need to peel the gloss varnish and respray with matte varnish?
anyway, looks excellent only when it's fresh out of the car wash. after a few hands start touching the car, than you will see all the smudges very easily, especially in black
Please, please show them to us fitted, pretty please.
Judgement reserved 'till then. The spray job looks real good though.

Mike
how much was it? they look good? how is the colour applied?
try them off first and if not put the cover back on... or get the cover treated too!
what colour centre cap are you going to us? the black and silver one might be cool. how about bolts?
These are what you want. I have seen them on black G wheels and they look great.
They are run of the mill Ashtaroths. Just in black.
isn't it cheaper to sell to someone in the uk rather than ship them allll the way back to cyprus  or you've already got something planned for them there..
of course, best keep them in the family ;) but i'd hate to see them scratched while off-roading in CY..becareful!
Hi Huss,
I thought you were mad when you suggested spraying them. Initially I really didn't like the style of them and didn't think they suited the vehicle, although please understand that is a personal opinion.
But, now that I see them sprayed and on the vehicle, Reserved judgement, I think they actually compliment it, genuinely. Maybe not everybodys cup of tea but they aren't half bad.
My vote ---- Keep them --- don't send/sell them.
There won't be too many more G's going around with them on.
Regards,
Mike
my guess is that they would look awesome in black G, somehow it just doesn't feel right with your body color
maybe you should have the G painted matt black to match the rims? :)
i dont think its the colour (they look a great contrast, i think its just that they look lost in the arches, if they filled it a bit more it would look the nuts.
a surprised i like it Tom
I like them :)
They go well with the running strips down the side etc .
:D , I can see Toms point thay dont seem to fill the archs ,
The look is so different to the normal alloys , the wheels look good but not on the that G .
On your short cab in the sun maybe , with spacers a body lift and long springs ............... :D , fantastic
Twodogs
put them on the cab like manydogs thought, that would look good with some chunky rubber, then be silly and put some dark amgs on it like you know you want to!
These are what you want. I have seen them on black G wheels and they look great.
saw a lots of them this week end !!!!!!!!!! black and silver.... 16" and 18" ....but only one set was for sale... :D :D :D
i been waisting years and money on polishing my collection :?
matt is definately on the agenda for my six spoke 18's......watch this space.
