Ballooner Ltd - Trading as G-wagen in Reading, Berkshire
Did any one buy car from this company before? Are they reliable?
It's a fairly new company born out of an older company. The older company went by the names of gwagen.co.uk and Caversham. There were many problems with them (you can search the forums). But Ballooner is run by a new owner called James.
He hasn't been going for long so I think most people here will give him the benefit of the doubt. SpiderIV bought a G from him recently and I think is happy. He'll probably chip in at somepoint.
and here is some point....
Surfer - can you give us some indication to what your looking for? If you look at the following link

I think the top 3 relate to some of the issue and what people’s experience have been.
In a nutshell - so far I can only report good news, I was dealt with how I wanted to be dealt with and got the machine I wanted, you do get a limited (of sorts) warranty with Balloner and James is working hard to address the past issues with the previous owners. Feel free to PM me if you want to know more.

depends on condition, mileage, history....
Hi Surfer history and provenance is paramount in assessing value. 8 owners 2 mots. no service book. no supporting invoices for the service book all reduce the value. a pretty paint job can cover a multitude of corrosion especially look for corrosion around the windscreen.and bottom of back door. water in the front foorwells.worn front wheel bearings. rough engine idle on the petrol 280 at cold... all needs sorted before purchase...or taken into consideration when bidding. MB have a Vin number access to the "factory specification at new build" for every G wagen so get the Vin of the vehicle you are interested in and the forum has access to the data...
Also read the buying advice section.
Thanks for you guys reply! Thinking to buy a G280 (1987 or 1988) from this company.
