Rear vent covers
Hi all,
today I found that water comes in to my car (W461, 290 gdt, 1999)through the rear vent covers. I try to find something that stops dust and water from inside but in vain  . Could somebody give his knowledge on the subject :D ? Is something missing?
Cheers Angelos
If you have water coming in from the rear vents, then it is most probable that the drainage pipes have disconnected or clogged with dirt, Also the plastic vent body on the inner side of the panel is not fitting well.
If you remove the inner panel you will expose the vent pipes. You will see how they fit. If connected then check they are not blocked. Also check the plastic body of the vent is fitted correctly.
To remove the panel use a flat screwdriver to genteelly remove the circular grommets running vertically up the rear door pillar. Once the panel is free, watch the speaker cables as they are short. Disconnect and move the panel to one side.
Thanks a lot, it will be the weekend project. The result will be post it.
Thanks again, Angelos :D
