Wooo Hoooo!
I bought myself a G today. I spent a little bit more than I was planning before I moved out over here, but the car was worth it. Its a 2004 G270 CDi LWB 463 model. I'll post up pics later
Spec as follows:
50K kms (30K miles)
One owner
Silver with Black leather
Mint condition (you can count the imperfections on one hand.
Latest G500 alloys.
Full G500 spec inc command, massage seats, etc etc.
The only thing it needs is
bumpers painted (was an option on the G270)
Bull bars
Just been serviced and new brakes and pads.
The owner is a German National and is a director of MB in Saudi. On top of that he has had ever since 1979, and has replaced one with another since then. This was replaced by a 320 CDi in exactly the same spec. He mentioned also that it had a one off engine modification by AMG to make it more powerful.
I just have to wait now for the paperwork, and hopefully i will have it with me by the weekend (starts on a Thursday here). I drove it around and the car felt nice and tight. I was amazed at how different I remember my G300 to be. This felt a trillion time more refined.

Thanks guys. I got back a bit late last night so didnt get a chance to upload the pics.
Well I decided to move quick because the car was spot on. Ive been hiring a Toyota Corrolla since I got here, and didnt fancy my chances against the Suburbans and Hummers that roam the streets over here. And since they are so rare I figured my chances of finding another good one was going to be low.

Thanks Hus. The car is for Saudi but if and when I finish up here then I'll bring it to London. Unless of course I feel the need for the extra power and find a nice G500/55. Then i'll send it back to sell. Saying that I have no plans to sell it anyway so looks like i'll be keeping it for life!
I had a G300 for a good few years that I used to use as a daily driver. Petrol costs killed me, but it drove faultlessly. In the end I had to sell it and regretted it even before the car was picked up. So I think I'll be keeping a G in the house for a good few years now. Maybe even replace it in 2010 with one of the last ones. Maybe.
As for the pics, im not gonna post any! Not yet anyway. Im having the bumpers painted by MB as these ones are black. On the G270 the coloured bumpers was an option, and currently they are still black. So when its done and I pick up the car, I'll post some pics. Maybe a teaser later!
