Auto selector illumination

Hi,

my auto selector doesn't light up so have removed rubber slector surround to reveal funny plastix starfish thing with long fibre optic feed and bulb holder...

However buldb is missing :shock:

Does anybody have merc part number for bulb or can recommend halfords or somewhere I can get one?

What spec is bulb??

We have been trawling the EPC for bulb specs for just such things for my G300 TD. According to Morty they're not listed in the EPC....

So if you find out how to find out then let me know....

if they use the same one on 460 and 463 i'm not sure, but it sure works for a 463 (up to 2001). 36p +VAT from the local dealer..odd how mine went out recently too!

Don't think that is the one that he is looking for. I recently had my centre console over the transmission apart and the bulb for the shifter was not like that.

hmm they may have changed with the 5-speed autos..this is what mine looked like, i took the bulb from the cigarette/ashtray lighter and put it in the white bulb holder, that fits into the gear selector, that has a recess for it in the photo..above and slightly to the left of the letter P
