Hi all,
I'm thinking of putting my 280 on lpg. I've recieved a quote from a company. They advise for the BIGAS EVOLUTION 2003-system.
Price is 1195 E without tax ( her in Belgium 21.5%) included is installation, cylindrical tank 100l all filling connections for Europe etc...
Does anyone here has experience with this system and what are the findings?
Thanks very much with the feedback

Hi no awareness of this system but you may prefer to have two tanks mounted underneath or the existing tank removed and a duel fuel tank put in the same place...both options available in the UK..single point injection works well on the 280Ge

Re: 280 Ge on LPG

i dont know about the system but all i can say is get the biggest tank possible. i had 100l tank. realisitcally you cannot completely drain the tank of fuel when using it so i would not go smaller than 100l.

see if they will alter your ignition timing too, i dont know the complete facts but roughly lpg combusts at a different point in the cycle so the spark timing should be changed to get the most efficient burn.

Hi Advance the ignition until the exhaust note is smooth without spits and puffs then retard it intil the spits and puffs start then advance with very minimal movement until smooth again...you may have to adjust the air mixture valve slightly to get it perfect........

Hi all,
Thanks already for the feedback.
Tanks under the car is out of the question. Car will also be used off the road.
Car is LWB van ( 3 doors) of 86so there should be space for bigger ore 2 tanks.
My experience with gas is from some years ago. My first 4x4 in '90 was a pajero ( I believe Montero in the UK) 2.4 engine, tank of 80 l.
I'v worked several years on lpg cariers so I know something of gas.
Best regards,
Dirk
