before (smaragd black):
the paint is so worn out that there are some 'bald spots' showing the primer. the blue/greenish smaragd didn't help either, making the G look very 'tired'

after (obsidian black):
rear-view mirrors, bumpers, wheel arches & sidestep ends gets painted as well. yippeee !!!

Looks extremely nice...

Would look even better IMO with a set of Attiks, Astraroths or Kompressor rims, though!

you'd not believe how expensive those rims are here.

reason is that they never came standard from MB, even until the last year of production in indonesia ( '98 ). so they are quite rare.
i was offered a set of 5 18" astaroths with tires for about USD 3500, USED!!

how i'd love to get my hands on a set of cheap AMG rims :)

I understand... and obviously it must be close to impossible having them go through customs if you buy them off Ebay Germany and have them shipped to you in Indonesia?

Anyway, that G looks fantastic.... and for an anorak like me it has the added appeal of being the newest G300 that I know of....

you got it...

i'm still trying to find a way of getting them in without being suckered by the customs. most of my friends advised to go hand carry the rims in a flight, & just pay a little bit of money to the airport custom. factoring in the air ticket & everything else, that's not a cheap solution either. :(

by the way, how much does a used set of G55 or 18" astaroth rims cost (average) in europe?

Those are even better! Being the rarest of them all!

Rare and surprisingly under valued.

Hmm Martin may I suggest you put them in a separate post as parts for sale under the GWOA Members section before you start a war here!
You keep dropping these photos all over the place..there's bound to be some casualties

Hi Sochu,

Sorry only getting to this now... I fear shipping + customs may put these beyond reasonable value. I shipped in an exact replica of this set some years ago from the states. Unfortunately good old Customs got me...result £2000 delivered...roughly the price they would have been locally!!
