Dear All,
I need the electrical diagram covering wiring, motors, memory module and all adjustment controls e.t.c. for the driver's side electrical seat, steering wheel & mirrors adjustment.
I am having problems difficult to fathom without the help of a comprehensive wiring diagram: with the 40amp fuse no.27 in position and if the seat adjustment controls are used, fireworks erupt under the fascia until said fuse is blown violently.
To add to my misery, access is proving quite a hurdle. I fear I will have to dismantle too much for comfort.
Please help. My car is a 2004/5 SWB LHD G500.
Merry Christmas to everybody perverted enough to be reading this message on such a day (25/12).

Re: Electrical diagram

Fault traced to computer control module A2118200126 (Sitzsteuergerat) under driver's seat: its insides appeared corroded and dirty. I have to assume damp-ingress but can find no other tell-tale signs except perhaps heavy mud-dust under and inward of FWD LHS headlight - maybe water came through the door during car's previous ownership.
Functions sort of half restored after thorough cleansing of box and relays with "ElectroClean".
Nevertheless I fear I will have to replace the module...
Can anyone please advise other MB models "wearing" same unit?

One more (irrelevant) point: the construction quality of the module is shockingly bad for a car of this calibre.

Many thanks

If you ever pull apart your G and compare it to an earlier G (about pre 2001 or so) you will see a staggering difference in quality. Many parts on the newer Gs are far inferior to the older ones.

Does your comment extend to the really important bits or just to the gadgetry?

hello there..rare car you got for greece! if i'm not mistaken if the part starts with A211 that indicates a 2002-06 E-class part, but i doubt if you ask for an E-class part at the dealer they'd be any cheaper, but you'd surely have more of a chance finding it on ebay. used to have a pdf with german/english technical terms as sometimes google.com/translate isn't so good with those..but can't find it at the moment. also forgot where i got it from!

General fit and finishings. There are things like the headlight mounts which used to be metal but are now plastic.

If I'm not mistaken someone posted the contents of something similar somewhere on this website...

That part was fitted to a number of W203, W209 and W211 models, apart from the G-Wagen. See if you can find a written of example of the listed models and whether it has the part fitted....

Re: Electrical diagram

Mortinson, you got all that from your EPC?! My version doesn't do that (says 1999 on it), what year is yours, I wonder..?

Re: Electrical diagram

This looks like the control module. I agree that the parts used in newer G Wagens are shockingly bad. Both my door control modules have now been replaced.

I understand that there is an MB directive that the electical clips to the motors have to be replaced as the original ones are substandard. The new ones are gold plated.

I would complain to MB in anyevent. It won't get you anywhere as they do not seem to give a monkies about their customers.

This is the full standard 2005 EPC, I believe. The ones I got installed at home are the EPC Compact (for W107, W123, W124 and W210) and the EPC Compact Plus (for W460, W461, W463 and W168) and neither of these has this facility.

Re: Electrical diagram

Thank you for clarifying that. I discovered mine is a compact EPC, hence.
Nothing beats a well-trained friendly MB parts person on his EPC, just a shame they're not all like that.

Random fact of the day, the cigarette lighter for these cars are unique to them, apparently all merc models (inc. CLS and CL, SL) use one model, but the G uses another. And it costs £21.40+VAT. Rejoice my smoking friends. I don't smoke either, but like to have a functional lighter, just in case you needed a heat source in an emergency.

Re: Electrical diagram

This is fascinating.
Thank you all for the info.
Is there a control module for windscreen wiper rain sencor?
If so, where is it? (The facility is no longer a facility)
