So why do people use snorkels? :lol:

And I understood that people used snorkels because the human body requires oxygen to function :roll:
Did you actually continue forward at that point or back-up?
i can't see any wisdom in going forward unless mark was driving it :)

Rich. all I can say is that you were very, very ,very lucky that day, just look how close that water is to the air intake vent.
And not so lucky :(
Last splutter from engine.
When the river floods and breaks it's bank around here it can get pretty deep on the road - having seen that 'bow wave' come over my bonnet last year I will be fitting a snorkel especially with a wet winter predicted.
( yes I know I've got a petrol and there are other things to consider........)

It wasn't close it went way past that vent, I drove out to the island with a bow wave but as you can see getting back was a differant story.
The picture was last christmas and its never missed a beat since..
