Where can I get a replacement waterpump for a 300gd 460, or should I try and get one from the maindealer?

Nangor Road Clondalkin 01.4606062

Part No M17000A / M17020 was GBP 30 last time I bought one

DON'T MENTION G WAGON.... you want it for a 300d W124/W201 model 5 cylinder diesel engine

Don't do that... they will sell you the waterpump for the W463 instead!

If you want to go that route, you want it for the W123 300D.

Or else, buy an original exchange unit at your friendly MB stealership. Last time I bought one (admitedly 8 years ago) it was a mere 30 pounds after the old unit had been returned....

Reminder: W460 300GD has the OM617 engine as fitted to the W123 300GD.

W463 300GD/G300D has the OM603 engine as fitted to the W124 300D (similar design to the 5-cylinder OM602 fitted to the W124 250D and W201 190D 2.5 and similar too to the OM601 fitted to the W124 200D and W210 190D).

Do I have to take the radiator out to make space to get the waterpump and fan out ?

No. You just need the fingers of a pianist. Well, not really. I have fat fingers and manage to do it, only after a little bit of swearing.

Re: water pump leaking

Hi all, have taken water pump and fluid coupling and fan out together, but need to know if they can be separated to get at the waterpump. There is two flats on the coupling. Is this part threaded on? Thanks.
