I was just noting elsewhere that there seem to be some fantastic registration plates kicking around these days, and I don't mean the likes of KEV 1N!

As I have already mentioned the was a 300 GD on Autotrader with the reg '300 G' and there have been other mentions of plates like 'G500' etc ...

I even remember seeing a rather nice Porsche in Taunton with a number plate that as good as said 'PUCH', can't remember what it was but even my missus recognised it!

Has anyone seen any other remarkable plates or could suggest some, amusing or otherwise?

Re: Registration plates
No Rant about the weather lol Believe this or not I once, a long time ago built an escort cosworth from scratch for hill climbing. I just kept it as a road car but when I owned it a while it was just a small rubbery sierra and I did not love it I went to register it as a new car The vehicle inspector was with me with all the necessary paperwork Being kiddish as I still am I asked if p155 off was available and it was There was no question about it and it was ready to be issued The inspector said as it is nearly August 1998 in a few days why not pre register it to an r reg How cool of him. I thought r5 coss. No luck as they had all been taken not even R555 cos was available so I just had a normal number Wonder if p155 --- has ever been offered since I doubt it True story 100%gospel at shrewsbury dvla If I had the plate I could not afford a Bugatti Veyron to put it on It would not look good on a plastic pig robin rialto lol

I'm not really a number plate fan, but at £180 I thought it was good for a bit of fun.

Re: Registration plates

the local bus company had an old chugger with FEK1F as its registration plate, I asked them to sell it to me but they had already entered into an agreement with one of the big registration number sellers

Re: Registration plates

At £180 that sounds like a real bargain Howard.

Not sure what the rules are nowadays - will you be allowed to set it up as G30O TD?

Re: Registration plates

You will also need a legal set (correct spacings) in order to obtain an MOT ! (just stick on top with double sided tape and remove when you get round the corner)

I was told that DVLA are planning to relax the laws on spacings ? due to it being them whom actually sell us these plates knowing they spell things if altered or fudged slightly.

Truth is if you spell something with your reg you are actually far more recognisable than any other motorist so of no harm to anyone and in fact more prone to capture (should you be partaking in anything which you ought not !) because will remember the car that had D1 CKS as a number plate as oppsoed to uhmmm GL51 RPD

(But the naughty swear words are never issued and if you see one it will have most certainly been modified to create the illusion ! or quite simply just fake and for show purposes not in anyway street legal )

Re: Registration plates

The letters are placed as they should be. Fortunately the number  0 and letter O are the same font which  gives the impression of all numbers. I did consider illegal plates to close the gap between O and T but I thought the standard ones look acceptable.

In the same auction G300 GTD was sold for #180. Unsold was G280 PUR with a reserve of #180

Some of you may recall my old G290 Van had the registration G290 VAN.smiley

all a bit of fun

Re: Registration plates

Don't understand frown

First off, I thought you must have got it to celebrate doing 100mph on the M52.

But there isn't an M52.

So maybe it was to celebrate doing 200mph on the M5 ------- but obviously not in a G wagon??????
