Nice site by one master repairer of W123-4 cars based in USA .. common engines to us .. just wish there was someone like that over here. Even half tempted by some of his own booklets he writes.

Just FYI as I had not come across it ... now back to trying to find a Dual diesel fuel filter with change over ball valve for a Deutz 6L914... :roll:

Re: mercedessource.com

Mgrays,
What is a 6L914?,
I only ask as I had some difficulty recently in locating a fuel filter for the brothers Deutz Fahr combine, a 1967 or 1968 M88.
But I finally came across the email and phone No ( neither of which I kept ) for Deutz Fahr UK
The german girl there was very good, said they only go back 30 years, but leave it with me.
She looked up the ref No for me and emailed me back pronto.
Cheers
Marcus

Deutz 6L914 or 6L912
6L = 6 cyinder in Line
about 5.7-5.9 litre N/A air cooled diesel.. they did come in turbos too but not sure of code off top of my head
912 is older engine which they stopped really about 4-5 years ago due to emmisions.. they are all illegal in the EU (need to go water cooled for emmisons) but the 914 has some cam/piston tweaks, with breather and a Checkoslovacian knock off in line Bosch injector pump which US still allows. Rest of the world seem to care little about stationary engines..
.. so fitted to combines, gen sets, Magr-Deutz trucks etc of '65-'90 vintage in Eurolands.
Fuel filter is mounted on top of oil filter block, basic canister style which no doubt could be found at lots of agricultural/commerical parts dealer in a "looks like this" mode!
