exhaust
Greetings Folks! I need your advise... it's a custom made stainless steel exhaust pipe on a 1983 300GDL (has a steel fuel tank)... will this exhaust pipe fit onto a 1989 300GDL (has plastic fuel tank)?? Thanks Dil
if its a custom made stainless one its impossible to say for sure...... but they no longer sell metal tanks, you get a plastic one come up on the system and i know people who have fitted them without having to change their exhausts, so on balance i think you should be ok.
Hi if its the tail pipe it should do but make sure that all the anchor points line up..then align it right and add a loft insulation bandage (or similar)around the length of pipe where it passes through the tank recess...it will melt a hole in the tank VERY quickly and the heat distorts the side of the tail pipe recess.....reducing fuel capacity and spreading diesel on the road and up the rear of your G'
