Apologies in advance, I am sure this topic has appeared many times but I would be grateful if someone could tell me definatively how I can either convert my 2005 G55 LHD headlamps to RHD or where I can get direct RHD repalcements.

I have read that vw Golf MkII headlights are a straight swap - sounds too good to be true - is this correct and that easy? Do they simply clip in?
Also, any suggestions on the best HID ight conversion kits?

Thanks

Yes, that is right but for a 460 or early 463 with no level adjuster... I think that for your 55 your best is MB...

If you can afford a G55 you can afford the proper lights!

£130 for a pair of clear RHD ones on e-bay. About £200 from a MB dealer.

Re: RHD Headlamps.......sorry!

I would prefer genuine MB, however, when I called a local dealer their system bough up the exact same headlights (part numbers) as those already on the car (at £120 each) which led me to beleive that they must be able to be adjusted for LHD or RHD.

Maxwell - where on ebay? I will check the part number with MB. Thanks.

Does anyone know of an MB dealership that is fully up to speed on the G?

Re: RHD Headlamps.......sorry!

The system will bring up the same part number as the part originaly fitted. They have to manualy find the part number for the UK spec lights (should take all of a minute).

I got mine from MB Colindale on 020 82005151. The parts dept there are usually very helpfull.
As Maxwell said, part number for the UK spec clear headlights is A463 820 0159 and cost £68.48 + VAT each (Jan 06)
I seem to remember they got that part number by refering to G55.

If the part number for your current headlights is A463 820 00 59,, then part number A463 820 0159 is the correct UK spec replacement.

Park Royal or Stratford are both used to dealing with Gs. Indeed Park Royal is the main UK G dealer.

The ones listed on ebay are LHD but if you send them a message they will sell you RHD.
