starter motor for a 280 & radiator refurbing

Not sure if this should be here or in electrical thread so apologies if it is posted in error.

The starter motor in my G is on its last legs, it can take 10 attempts with the key for it to unjam and i need a replacement.

Can anyone help with a source of recon replacement and part numbers to quote :?:

Chassis no is WDB46023327041854 a 1985 280 GE

Also my radiator needs refurbing does anyone know of a good specalist in the NW or WM as I am oswestry based.

Hi sticking solenoid or maybe more ..any body local doing alternator / generator repairs can fix it. GBP 150 upwards...radiator can be recored...again look for local rad repairer.. G wagen no different from other vehicles except the cost and same starter on the saloon car so even a breaker would have one (w124 e series cars) radiators are G only

Try Wrexham radiators (in yellow pages).

Are you sure its the starter, could just be the solenoid? Mine did the same, it was the contacts (in the sealed for life) solenoid. £10ish for a genuine bosch one.
