I noticed a drip when filling up at the petrol station the other day. On closer inspection the upper tank located under the rear wheel arch is damaged. Does anyone know where i can get a replacement, part number, rough cost? This is just bad luck as i am taking it to the south coast next week.

Any help gratefully received, James.

Hi James you could remove the damaged tank and plumb in a new hose to the filler neck ..just means you are 15.5 ltrs shorter on fuel capacity

it's certainly worth the temporary fix. there is a return pipe from the main tank would there be any issue blocking it off?

Hi I think that is a breather.. disconnect it and run the engine to check.....you might get the leaking aux tank repaired before your journey.the other alternative is not to fill it so full and direct the filler nozzle away from the leaky area when filling.it could of course be only a corroded jubilee clip at the base of the aux tank...which would be a bonus

arrow radiators use a process to repair fuel tanks called "fuel tank re-nu". it involves de-rusting the tank repairing holes & baking a new skin on the inside & outside of the tank. they give a lifetime warranty on this process. i have just had one of my pannier tanks done (rusted filler & breather pipes) & it seems extremely durable. they can be contacted on 01225 707996. as far as i can remember a new pannier tank is about £290, re-nu about £150
