Front wiper linkage
I wonder if this is the correct place for this post but anyway here it goes:
At the end of their travel the front wipers make a knocking noise as if something has worked itself loose. In addition, sometimes the motion of the wipers, as they scan the glass, is not smooth but intermitently starting and stopping (similar to the second's hand of a quartz watch). All this with reference to a late G500.
Any views?
When the wipers are stationary, how much should be their free travel, if you try to move them by hand?
Thanks
When stationary, there should be no movement at best.
It seems strange that your 04 G has worn wiper spindles already. This is normally associated with older Gs. Is the nut securing the arm to the spindle tight? That would cause it to slip on the splines.
I have no knowledge on the modern interiors(post 2000)
Can't answer for a 463, but it's not much fun on a 460 either

Unfortunately there is movement when stationary.
How does does one reach the linkages?
