Fire extinguisher
Is there a specific place inside the cabin of a swb 463 where the OE fire extinguisher is positioned?
On the ML series there is a cradle under the driver's seat which holds the extinguisher.
Perhaps something similar for the 463?
Is there a part number?
My extinguisher is located on a bracket under the n/s/f seat base.
I'm sure this is the standard mounting position.
Try your local MB dealer for the part number....... If they are as useless as my local lot you had better not hold your breath!! Price will probably be a joke too?
Will measure the dimensions of mine so you can try to locate an aftermarket equivalent.

Assuming its like any other 463 SWB it will be under the drivers seat in a special bracket. The jack is under the passenger seat.
Mine must have been swapped then??
My SWB was RHD. My LWB is LHD and unfortunately doesn't have the extinguisher. I do need to buy one so if someone has the part number for the extinguisher and bracket it would be appreciated.
I did try to find the part numbers for the bracket assembly but for some inexplicable reason MB (and dealers) seem unable or unwilling to oblige/supply. Their claim seems to be that no OME can or should be retrofitted. Not even an original fire extinguisher holding bracket (being an optional extra at the time of ordering the car). I really do not understand their inflexible attitude: what have they got to lose? As far as fire extinguishers are concerned, their attitude is silly.

Mine is a LHD. The jack is under the pasenger's seat inside a plastic hood. Is yours a RHD?
