I have just been to the paintshop to have a price for a respray.

I am looking to respray in NATO green, from the current colour of white with brown freckles.

The paintshop has no experience using this paint and has asked me to supply.

I have seen it advertised on Ebay and Anchor Supplies. Any advice on where to buy from?

Has anyone used this paint before, and if so any tips?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies.

I found a supplier on Ebay, which is the same one Two Dogs used.

Two Dogs, how many litres do you estimate for a 300 LWB? What ration paint to thinners?

David, I may give you a call, but not sure if I can until I have paid my subscription  Don't want to break with forum etiquette :)

hi Bollotti! i bought mine from fascinaiting finishes aswell - went for 'Nato Green' closest to current Brit green according to them (and twodogs :o ) i bought 2.5l which is more than enough for two coats. can thin to max 10% . the 'thinners' smells very much of white spirit......................... i bought paint , 2l thinners and a huge pile of foam rollers for £50 something quid (i dont charge to share my experiences!)

I see you painted your alloys black as well. Did this require special paint, or did you use something like hammerite?

Nato green is paint code BS381C/285, just get your local paint supplier to mix you some up in whatever finish/paint system you prefer.

I do likes that Canadian G jobbie, I could even be tempted to part ex my 110 for one (with cash my way-obviously)

Re: Painting Advice - NATO paint

On the second picture the paint does look a little duller and a different shade of green.

I have ordered the Nato green from Kingstonian Paints, so I hope it will be very close to the first picture.

I have also opted for gloss black on the wheels.

I have also ordered a snorkel, which should finish the job off nicely. 8)

It is booked in for next Friday, so I will post some before and after pictures.

probably not, but it dosnt contain isocyanates like proper 2 pack IRR does, the colour should be the same though.
