Does anyone know where the air is drawn from? I have two pipes which go towards the front. I am concerned that the air is drawn from the intakes on the wings and not somewhere lower down!

I "think" that of the two intake grilles the engine air is drawn in through the rear one and the front one is for ? did I see somewhere an oil cooler ?
 you could always test with a hose with the engine revving really really fast
Then
(i) you would know for sure
and
(ii) you would probably remember

Ta

I have had a look and it seems that both wing inlets are connected to the intakes.

if it's the same as a 2000 model, then both intakes on the fender suck air in to the engine, one to the left side, the other to the right, before it goes to individual filters, then it is combined towards the back of the engine where the throttle is (if you remove the engine cover it'll all make sense)

you can test by placing your hand over them while some one revs the engine, if you do that on 300GTD, butterflies come out of the vents
