Australian Treffen - November 2007
I just thought that I would extend an invitation (on behalf of AGOA) to all our GWOA bretheren. The AGOA Treffen 2007 is our first, and will celebrate (almost to the day) 25 years of the G-Wagen in Australia.
In November 1982, Mercedes-Benz Australia flew (by helicopter) the motoring press of Australia to the summit of Mt Terrible in the High Country of Victoria and let them loose on a gaggle of G's.
In November 2007 we will again be heading (but not by helicopter) to Mt Terrible and surrounds to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the vehicles official release on our shores. While the official event is held over one weekend, it is likely that members will stay on to enjoy the area and the company at length.
Now I know it is a long drive for some of you but here are a few tempters from our Pre-trip last week. If you want more information (or photos) go to the AGOA website at www.agoa.org.au and click on the Treffen Link. This will be the largest gathering of G-Wagens in Australia since the original release.
See the contact details on the Web Page if you want more info.

Thanks for the invitation, although it's probably a bit far for some of the Poms.
Has MB Australia given any support or are they interested in the publicity?
Have you seen this picture before of a new rhd G built for the Army as a prototype?
Great looking G ! and it's got the steering wheel on the proper side at last. :D

Well done, keep us posted of the news about the meeting...
Cheers
Roly, I reckon that if you start driving now you should make it in time for November!
Daimler Chrysler Australia have been very supportive of our non-affiliated group and have given me direct access to the 270CDI they currently have here for compliance testing prior to the arrival of the 280CDI's that they using for the tender. I think that they are due mid-year. At this stage I have not heard back from them in relation to our Treffen but I am hopeful that they will be involved in some way.
I will attach a photo of the 270CDI if I can.
If anyone would like a copy of our PDF Newsletter that contains the report and photos of the 270CDI send me an Email via the address shown on our Web Page - www.agoa.org.au
