Hi

Absolutely no surprise, I'm sure, that my driver's seat has worn out/torn in the usual place. It is grey large-check fabric.

Please does anyone know a source for the fabric to repair it (e.g a knackered seat with just enough good fabric to do the job) - or do you have a serviceable seat going spare?

Thanks

I've got a set of door cards in this fabric which are absolutel superb but surplus to requirements......if you don't get sorted could you cannibalise them?

Let me know.....

Re: Seat fabric source?

Thanks, John. Assuming the door cards are the same as mine, there would only be enough material without holes in to make a patch or at best to let in a new piece just for the side bolster. It would be a shame to spoil good parts for that.

Thanks also, Hus. I just rang the G Class Centre and was quoted approx £135 for the back cover. More than !0% of the cost of the entire car sounds like an expensive seat-back cover to me!

So, all in all, I think I'll bide my time on this one - unless anyone else has a moderate but unwanted passenger seat I could cannibalise for the covers? Or any other ideas.

And I think I'll also look some more at the options for swapping out the seats for something more comfortable - maybe Saab. It would never be a concourse winner anyway

All depends which concours judge you get Malc  Bill Reid is after exactly the same check so if you did decide to do a patch job from John's door cards might be worth dropping him a line.Personally I'm looking out for a 124 interior to use.

Thanks, Pete. I'll drop Bill an e-mail to see where he's up to with the search.

Re: Seat fabric source?

Capolongo is right... the bigger check design should be available directly from MB at reasonable prices... as for the older design, there's this German supplier of the original stuff:
