Need to find out boost pressure on an OM602. Still not getting above 2500rpm on the road. Slowly going through the truck , Acc pedal sensor is okay as is map sensor. Sure it does 372 miles on 16 gallons but need those revs above 2500 and a speed greater than 80km/hr. So the info I am chasing is what is boost pressure on a 2000 Sprinter 312?

If you have not got any fault codes yet, can you have them read first?

In the mean time check out the basics, air filter, fuel fiter; is the rev limited to 2,500 rpm on idle, stationary vehicle? Are the intercooler pipes properly attached?

Need more history and better information, please. If you do not mind, vin no. and full eninge no. as well.

Hello Rakesh. Thank you for the quick reply .Without load it revs to 3250RPM.Does not have intercooler. I will run some tests today and report back on any codes that pop up. Bear in mind this is a 2000 Sprinter 312 OM 602 which has been plonked into an Automatic 460. Even as it is it is better than the 230GE it was-up to 80K.haha.

Well Rakesh It is all good news. Fault code was for EGR and as this was not put into the G from the Sprinter 312D we jumpered the ecm with a small speaker and the revs went from 2500 to 4200RPM. Knowing that was the cause we then installed a Charge pressure Vacuum Transducer and now I have full power at last. All the months of this seemingly futile excercise have melted away and the performance is a joy . I am now almost an expert on advising Sprinter to g wagon transplants though still would caution.

Doubt if i will ever get to the other island at least not in the G . I really do think the turbo Sprinter engine suits the g wagon so if you come across a wrecked Campervan grab the motor(after you have saved the tourists who were driving on the wrong side of the road). I put together a dvd of things needed and info on this engine if you ever need this guff, just come in from driving on snowy icy roads. You are not missing ANYTHING.

If you can think of any bits you may need that are left over from my engine change give me a yell. With the Sprinter engine I cannot get less than 500km on a tank. i do not know how that compares with other G diesels. At the moment an intercooler is not top of the list for additions. Tows well as you see in this pic. It is my way of installing Satnav!!!!!

BTW I think the dash can take a DOUBLE-DIN .Anyone out there installed a Pioneer Avic with H/D?
AND Tempted to put a 5 speed auto in it. Yes I know they use an electronic brain but so does my engine and it is now sorted. got to have a project.

You can track and compare your mileage here - though still not many Gs on it yet.

Re: 23 MPG not to be celebrating

After 10000k on the repower and a lot of it on the open road my feeling is the best thing would be to put 5 speed auto into it. That way i would get an overdriven top gear . What other mercedes vehicles used the same 5 speed auto that the later gs had. Dont mind the electronic brain it needs. Will sort that problem out.
