As some of you know ive mentioned but Im thinking of importing a G into Australia.

At the moment Im looking at the Japanese market as most are in better nick with less K's.

We are not allowed to import past 31.12.1988...yea I know..bummer.

I was looking at some and saw a 2x4 or 4x2..not refering to a piece of timber.

Besides the obvious lack of 4x4,what else is differant about these models ?

The one in the link below is 3.1989,but it gives me an idea of maybe what its going to cost me.

Thst is obvisouly a mistake, since no 2wd GWagens were ever made. They were designed, and MB even printed the first workshop manual thinking that they would produce 2wd Gs, but by the time production started they realised that the saving offered by this version was marginal and the idea was abandoned.

I guess that the tranlation is referring to part-time 4wd, given that the model depicted is a 460.

My options were getting limited enough, I would have taken it with just rear wheel drive.
Thanks for that !

The front lockers were an option on the early W460s.
