Hi Ian, Just planning ahead, really. If it is not very difficult I might go for it. Because will give more clearence from the lpg tanks as Huss mentioned and I also need to give bit more clearence to my new powerflo s/s exhaust as well. The main box is much bigger than the MB original
and it is hanging down much more than the original. Although the ORC springs lift the car up I am planning to do some off roading in the future and it is beter to be on the safe side.
You seem to not to like the idea. Will appreciate some feed back.

I always thought that the body was lifted in respct of the frame. Given that the LPG tanks are attached to the frame, lifting the body is not going to affect the tanks.

Another issue is to give the chassis a bit more clearance by means of fitting longer shocks and springs and/or fitting taller wheels. This could obviously do the trick, but at the cost of getting the centre of gravity higher up.

I never done it by my understanding is it is not as straight forward as it seems as by lifting it more than a couple of inches you need to consider the change in angle for the driveshafts and steering linkages.

But the bigger question is why would you even contemplate off-roading with LPG tanks UNDER your G? Sounds slightly dangerous.... how about getting some skid plates made?

The tanks are fitted on the body rather than the chassis and a body lift will lift them up, but reading all the complications I dont think it is really worth the hassle . I will keep it as it is now. Thanks for your ideas
