'It is on a 'byway open to all traffic' - at least any traffic with 40-50 cm ground clearance! The western approach (just round the corner on the right) has large rock steps and slabs and would be impassable to all except tractors and the larger 4x4s. Nevertheless, there seem to have been quite a number of vehicles trying it. The steam is the one whose spring sapping has excavated the Devil's Punchbowl a couple of miles to the south.'
How much I miss Surrey! :(
'the fastest car in the world is a hire car'
I've heard about your "running in" for people!
you have ?, heres a video of my last test drive.

Watch and see how the american soldiers have to drive through Iraqi streets to limit risks of attacks
Bl**dy H*ll! No wonder people want to attack them if they drive like that.... its a good thing that people in Iraq aren't suing them for whiplash....
Now where is my articulated lorry... lets see them bump that... but then again they had no problem bumping a bus...
I'll think they have to keep moving, otherwise there a nice target for those bombs that have sandals for guidence

Well, they created the problem and we all have to deal with it!
nice land cruiser!
as for the vid, i can see why, but bugger me no wonder theyre not popular, someone pulls out on my in london and i get annoyed, these people have the bonus of having their homes blown too!
Looking very good indeed, thank's very much Rich. The book i'm reading at the moment on Sahara travel rates Bland Cruza's over all other's.
Anyway, whats that funny looking vehicle in the background
I'm off to find a LC forum
bad piggy ......
Next step lose the chrome wheels and get a decent set with a wider off set, or some wheel spacers, and then stick on the BFG krawlers you have on order. Then lend it to me for a weekend for a trial,. Dont stick an arb on it, they stick out to far for challenge events.
why do you want his toyota when you have a beast of a G??
....or you might want to use this beast..... :!:
it belongs to my brother who lives in n-cyprus. his jeep has been profesionally converted with lockers, dana 44 diffs etc etc (A VERY SERIOUS PIECE OF KIT!!) we hope to do some serious rock crawling together this summer with another mate who owns a toyota vx 4.2 td with o.m.e suspension lift.(that bloke is crazy  )he has already drawn up a map which consists of mountain goat tracks :!: :!:
:D almost there,, surprising how much you can get in these Land Cruisers, 6 Jerry cans, fridge, recovery gear, sand mats, compressor, etc, etc. Even got room for a change of clothes, not that i'll need them, only going away for 3 weeks
Wonder if Howards packed yet

howards is emailing pictures to me, ill post if he remembers to send them before he goes.
What happened to Mark's new G 300? I thought it was just some radiator damage. The pics of Richard with his head under the bonnet didn't make it look too bad.
Dan..its a sad tale best told by Mark on his return
Twodogs
I didn't want to mention it to Mark as I imagine it it not a happy topic. I hope it gets it sorted out.

Sand dunes where unbelievable. 8 cars, mostly LR's. I am sure the pictures will do the talking when they arrive back on Saturday, in general a good trip but 12 hr days driving.
