Hi all
There are 3 wires going to my automatic gearbox on the 89 280GEL. The engine & box have been reinstalled after being out a while. Two of the leads are: a large 4 pinned multiplug, and a small single pin plug.

The third is a thin cable with a small ring type electrical teminal on it. Anybody have a clue what it's for? Or where it bolts on?

Yours, (still) Confused of Camberley

thanks

Have good look around the gearbox - should be a little sensor or perhaps earth? Will be underneath a 280 late in the week and will check then for you

Re: Wiring to gearboxes

This one solved this afternoon guys - thanks for your help. I looked with a fresh pair of eyes at the cable, which, being 18 years old still had its original bends and curves in it. In addition, at the rear of the 'box were two cable clips with no cable in them.....I re-routed the rogue lead in the opposite direction and the bends & curves worked superbly to take the cable around to the offside of the box, where up on the side is a device which I reckon could be something to do with kickdown?
Phone camera photo attached - anyone know what it's for?

Thanks again guys
