5 speed gearbox

Hi
just a quick question does anybody know if a 5 speed manual box on a 230ge, different to a 5 speed manual box on a 3oogd diesel.The 230 is on a b plate and the 300 is on a c plate.

the starter motor is on the opersite side

I would guess the gearbox is the same but the bell housing is different - should be able to swap them or do I have the wrong end of the output shaft :lol:

but on second thoughts the 230 5 speed looks like its bell housing is part of the transmission case - you need to run the part numbers through an EPC to check.

having just looked up the 230 & 300gd 5 speeds on my epc the 230 comes out as A4602601801 and the 300gd as A4602602001 both have bell housing in the case so if the starter is on the other side it wont fit.
