Travelled to London today to collect the G and ended up flying home  .

The problem was with the locking diffs.

She would engage the centre and then the rear diff but the red confirmation light for the front diff would not illumate and judging by the steering it was not engaged.

When turning the diffs off the rear activation light stayed on as did the ABS light and no matter what was tried the rear activation light would not go out?

Major fault or minor problem? Apart from that she drove well.

Any suggestions as to a possible cause or advise from those with more G experience than myself would be greatly appriecated.

Thanks

Nigel

Re: Locking Diffs

sounds like the diff lock actuators have not been functioned in a long time and have not been serviced either. service the actuators and sequence them a few times and all should be well..you can crawl underneath and manually disengage ...to get you home.

Re: Locking Diffs

Left the vehicle with the seller. He is taking it to a MB Specialist next week to have the problem resolved. A big Job???

Are there any other problems common on a 300GES Auto 463?

Re: Locking Diffs

not a big job, but could be a multitude of of things, its all down to vacuum pipes, and valves. Its a process of elimination.
