460 Rear Quater Rust Protection
I seem to remember someone asking about the above. Try looking at:
http://www.vinthers.dk/protectRust.htm
I had these supplied by the vendor recommended by Poul and fitted to my older W460 G. They were a bit of a pain in the neck to fit but then fitted perfectly and needed no mods as opposed to the fitting of the W463 parts.
Unfortunately, this is only effective if you repair your rear quarters firts. Otherwise you only slow the problem down
Lancia used rubber strip with staples like that in 1970's
The cars use to rust where the rubber kept the paint wet ... the 463 option with plastic liners is better as it tends to dry out as it is not a tight fit .. yet there is enough of a cover to keep the big lumps out that start the build up of stuff... just IMHO.
But do I want to shell out for 463 liners... hum.. lets finish the bodywork/chassis properly first.. that is a £250 job otherwise.
Snowing today and my snowmobile (aka 460 GDST) has.. no interior, windscreen, doors, wings (inner+outer), bonnet, wheels, turbo .. oh well hopefully it will be ready for the 2 weeks in March  .. so wheel liners are low on the shopping list
lancias rusted everywhere in the 70's if you parked it outdoors and it rained it was a taxi ride to work the next day im told.
i plan on making something along those lines, it makes the clean up after a play easier.
so where can i get hold of a set?? if the g is sealed then the issue of the rubber touching the panels shouldnt be an issue...?
I'm also very interested in protection the wells of my W460. Do the W463 liners actually fit the W460 wells? I'm considering ordering a set to complete my already finished restoration. Suggestions?

can you tell me what wheels (rims) you have on your G and where I might get a set?
thanks
i like the look of that G ALOT :!:
Guys I am a little confused. I have fitted 463 wheel arch inner liners to my 460/1. The backs fit like a glove. The front ones need a little trimming down by the chassis out rigger, and a spacer on the front section as the arch curves in on a more acute angle. If you ask Jesus for his chassis number you would have liners to fit 460’s without wheel arch extensions.
If you do purchase a set, you will need to drill two bolts through the existing rear wheel arch to hold the back of the liner. The bolts are factory fitted on 463 models.
The liners cost me from memory about £36 per corner and take about one hour per corner to fit.
I shall try and take some pictures tomorrow before it gets dark to show the how it looks.
The best £36 I have spent on the truck.
h
So
Howard I am puzzled,
Why did you only do one corner?
Imagine if you were building Supermarkets with sums like that
Anbody got a set I could draw round??
or is that a bit cheeky??
