Anyone know where I can get a new key blank for my '91 300 GES ? I am wanting to get a spare key cut.

:)

The only place that I have ever heard of is MB dealer. They will supply a new key from your VIN and ownership proof

That is correct. And it might surprise you to find out that getting an original replacement from MB is actually cheaper than having a copy cut in the UK. It happened to me four years ago and it may well happen to you too!

I bought a replacement key from my dealer last year for about 15 quid, all they need is your logbook and proof of ID, passport/driving licence.

Surprising. I dug up the invoice and it is ref no A0007663706 and I paid STG 4.20 + VAT

Re: key blanks ?

Walking around our local market and saw the usual little wooden caravan thing the key cutter runs his business from .... thought 'what the hell' and decided to ask if he had any keys to match my G-wagon one .

Surprisingly , in the depths of this little wooden van he emerged with a matching blank  Must have been there for years judging by the 'patina' :)

Anyway I now have a spare key for my G-wagon for the grand total of £3.50 :)
