Replace sills with box section??
Has anybody thought about replacement of sills with a length of box section? I read an article about g-zilla?? who appeared to have done just that - any down sides?
Is it alot of hard work? or given that the rear end of my sill requires work a good mod which will increase clearence be stronger and allow jacking along the side?

yep i have....have done it lots of times and have even bent up custom profiles to do it with as well...re bronjens pics in toe rag wheel post.
It is easier to replace both and make sure they join up to the floor supports
But if you leave the inner sill vertical (remove bottom) then weld along bottom edge and remove most of outer sill (to about 20mm below door line) this would be very strong and straight forward?

Do you replace inner and outer or just but rectangular box against inner sill vertical?
