LONGEST G OWNERSHIP IN THE CLUB.
Hi guys,as obvious everyone is in the GWOA is smitten,but i am interested to know who has had the longest ownership of a G-WAGEN??
CONSISTENTLY OR NOT.
i dont have a clue, maybe the member i bought my one off of? im going for the record though, first ownership at 17 and first drive at age of about 8or9 thats gota be on for a record one day.

Bought new in 1982, and still owns, so only three years short of a HPS.

i have pix of her when i owned her and she was a beauty.
I would bet David or Tony are certainly up there... as well as a few other avid member collectors (who aren't avid enough to post) including someone who is now driving a G400... I think they have all owned Gs consistently since at the latest the mid 80s.

Well there are quite a few pics of David's G55 scattered throughout the site and he does come on quite often. As for getting Tony online.... that would be a little more difficult... nay impossible.
The other guys just keep their eye on the site but never post for some reason.

While not an official member of your club, I certainly do qualify as a member of the community. :P
I purchased my first one - a LWB 1984 280GE - new in Stuttgart in August 1984. I imported it into the US; and drove it continuously until 2002, when I replaced it with a 2000 G500. So, it's 22 yrs and 5 months of continuous ownership at this point.
i think you have first place so far,especially considering the continuos use dutch.

Which one? The 280GE or the G500?
Attached is a shot of the 280GE taken on it's maiden trip right after it was picked up from Stuttgart in 1984. That's the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse in Austria.

I don't remember exactly. It was 7-10 days, I think.
Have owned my current G since it was 6 months old in 1984.
Does that qualify me for a blue peter badge?

My dad brought our first G back in 1983,reg no was: RMP 9Y,it was first registered at mercedes benz london road romford,2 mins from where i live now!!!so i guess,over 23 years in the family and over 15 years ownership myself.
i found her on new years day and the present owner says "they are joined in holly matromorny!"she has aged though....
