If the drain holes in teh vent intake were blocked, where would you expect water to leak in?

Apart from a leak on teh windscreen seal, is there anything else that would cause water to leak in above where the bonnet release handle is ?

I am not absolutely certain of this fact, but if your vehicle is fitted with a factory sun roof, the drain tubes for the s/roof run down the A-pillar, if the tube is dislodged it seems feesable water to drain above the bonnet release handle.
Slide open you s/roof, pour from a small jug, or a mug water into the s/roof corner. Do this slowly so not to overflow the water back into the cab.
Draining water will pour out from under the front of the front door line, further down in the sill, i.e. directly under the A-pillar.
If blocked get a welding or brazing rod to clean out the tube. After the blockage has cleared, rinse the tube by flushing with more water poured down the tube. If that fails try and look at the moulding runing across at the top of w/screen.

Re: drain holes for vent intake? + leaks

Hi water ingress from the heater duct penetrates low level into the carpets of the centre console..if your water from the bonnet release appears when only the driver is in the vehicle it is accumulating there due to the slight lean caused by the weight of one person... it comes in through the window seal or wiper spindles and builds up on the folded edges of the metal dash structure.the only way to stop it is at the source not trying and deduce where it is coming from when you see it. if you park the G on a slope the water will appear in a different location from when you park it on the flat and it can only get in through the seal ..spindles or porous metal in the windscreen surround area.is the heater valve leak cured ??? rgds and a Happy New Year

thanks for the detailed replies :) I'm getting closer to solving this leak ;)

The car does have a sunroof, so I will have a check of that :)

Heater valave should have arrived with my local garage, but they are not open until after new year so it will be done ASAP :)
