WHERE HAS IT BEEN ???
the log book of my g wagon states it was manufactured in 1985 and registered oversea yet the date of registaition is 1987 ....
how can i find out whre it as been for 2 years .. its had 5 owners form new and covered 93 500 miles
any ideas :D

More seriously, the Russian club site is down at the moment, but when it comes back, enter the complete VIN of your G and it should tell you the dealer which originally ordered the car: http://www.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng
Failing this, send the VIN to me and I shall check it on the EPC.

There you go. It seems that you failed to enter the WDB before the VIN because the Russian website did work for me. You should enter the VIN as follows:

I don't know where you get from that your G was manufactured in 1985... with that serial number (020186), your G is likely to have been manufactured in September 1982
Hi Steve the specification you have from Russia indicates that your G was built on Steel wheels.. no wide arches..single spoke steering wheel..no rpm indicator..steel swivels on the front axle.. no rear headrests... black/grey check interior and supplied by a dealer in Munich...could have been sold originally to a British serviceman or civilian attached.this could account for a later year on the UK Number plate/log book. it would also have had a metal fuel tank and no vacuum reservoir under the nearside front wing.

hi yes to most of them its amazing it was indeed red now white ,black seat and no carpet and i add a rpm clock
but no-one as said is a RAGTOP
i am in the middle of restoring it :)
it has a hard top on it, that as been welded on so im going to have it cut of and a soft top made for her
also add a bull bar

the hard top as been handmade by the last owner in steel and has plastic windows ,its due to be cut off around may 07
