My G (300 GES 1992) has not been used for about 2 weeks. When I opened the door, the smell of petrol fumes nearly knocked me out. Thank God I don't smoke!

Any ideas where the fumes are coming?

Thanks.

Re: Petrol fumes inside

If it is inside rather than under the bonnet chances are its the hoses to the fuel sender on top of the tank ..lift the rear carpet to reveal a square panel held with four screws remove the panel to reveal the top of the sender... look for leaks ..it could even be the seal underneath the sender if you don't fill to the brim very often the seal hardens. look for petrol on the ground after you have run the engine ..could help guide you to the source of the smell rgds
