Hi All,
I am confused as to what lubricant to use in my manual gearbox?
My Shell lubricant spec sheet states Donax TM.... Automatic trans fluid.
This is not readily available now and does not cross over to another spec.
My local MB dealer suggests standard transmission fluid (ATF).

What do you use in yours??

I am tempted to use Donax TX which is synthetic transmission fluid (ATF 2).

Any help greatfully accepted.

Kind Regards
Peter

Any good quality ATF, Dexron or even Dexron II will do.

I used to buy Castrol ATF off Halfords.

Mortinson,
Thanks very much for taking the time to scan the document and post a reply.
Glad that I was on the right line.

Far easier to ask, rather than bugger up a good gearbox!

Kind Regards
Peter

Re: Manual Gearbox oil??

MB dealer arrived today with Shell TM delivery. Despite my only asking for a price!!
Returned it for credit as they charge £17.61+VAT/Litre!!!

I had been quoted by a trade supplier £46+VAT/20Litres (Shell TM).

I realise how the dealers can afford such glitzy premises now.

Regards
Peter
