What areas on a G should i pay particular attention to ref Rust?

I have just been sent a photo of a rust patch ( supposedly the only rust on the bodywork) under the rear lights. Is this an area that can be easilly corrected?

this is a notorious area. also check around the windscreen and arches. i know it can be fixed, having not done it myself i dont know how easily. i think nick (greeny) has posted about panel replacement elsewhere, look at that.

Yes, around the rear lights is probably the most common area. Reapir, then take out rear lights and just douse with waxoyl everywhere.
Other areas of rust are aound the bodymoounts. Check this as it could be a MOT failure and hard to fix.
Otherwise, there is the wheelarch underneath battery, sills if its been off-roaded heavily, rear door, other doors undersides, fuel tank, rarely spring mounts and maybe another one or two which I cannot think of at the moment. Most of above are exceptions to the norm but worth looking for them.

All the above plus rear shock absorber mounts.
Having said that my 1986 280 still has the original paint on the chassis though, try finding a LR like that!
Your picture doesn’t looks bad but behind the lights will not be very pretty. Original MB panels are around £54 and no big deal to fit.
