I have been given a latest version of EPC DVD (original not copy) by the local dealer but all I see is a blank screen, DVD appears as if its blank.
Can any one please help me what software do I need to be able to read this DVd?

Thanks

Kam

I thought Mercedes would not sell the complete EPC in DVD but the so called "compact" EPC versions which come in a CD-ROM and are good for four models. In the WIS that I got you have to cheat it making it believe that you are running the software on a network rather than on a PC. In any event, the experts would need more detail as to the version you have to give an opinion

Hi Mortinson,
Thanks for your reply. It is a full DVD with all MB models to date including all documentation V 07/2006 FPCDDBD01. It was a gift not a sale and not sure if they are allowed to sell it or not.

One clue that might help is that it says it can only be used in PowerQuest which I imagine is an additional software the MB are using. Any other alternative?
Thanks

Someone someplace  acquired a fleabay version.

Have to install the "Program Manager" software that runs EPC (EPC is just a set of data for it to work on) but you also need a key which is based on your MAC address after you trick it into thinking it is on a network.

All seemed rosy until they had to pull Norton 2003 off the machine to put Norton 2006 .. then (which seems to be around 1 year after they started to use it... perhaps a Feature!) it failed with a new MAC address which is unlikely though just about possible I'm told.

Long and short .. yes you need another CD with other software plus a "good" password which will be based on your "network" connection so a fair bit more work.
