Right, my 460 is a poverty spec model, and due to the niceness (!!!) of the interior and welding issues, it needs to have the interior out at least in part. While that's so, i want to improve her - elec window & c/locking, 463 mirrors etc.
Has anyone either retro fitted 2nd hand factory parts, or, as is more likely to happen in my case, used the aftermarket kits available? I'd like to use MB "show" parts, switches and the like, but I don't have a lot of G experience yet so i don't know where theyre located, whether the c/locking is vacuum or electrical etc etc etc.

Please help me become more G- Wise!!! Thanks

Regarding the electric windows, I would definitely fit the aftermarket kit. Apparently it works well and costs a fraction of the original one -which costs some € 450 + VAT per window plus switches, cables, etc. I don't think that the switches look the same as the original one though... but I stand to be corrected.

As for the central locking, I would try to source a complete, second hand kit.

There is somebody in this forum who fitted 463-style mirrors to a 460 but I can't remember his name. It's not too complicated but it entails patching up the holes where the original mirrors entered into the doors
