Crash bang wallop.
Yet another reason to be grateful to G's.
Mrs C was towing the horsebox near Guildford the other day, having just dropped off one of our stallions. Down a single-track country lane, followed by the usual snake of cars, since Mrs C is cautious to a fault and there was nowhere to let them by. Round a blind bend to meet Mum and her kids in an Espace hurrying home having picked the kids up from school to get them to a halloween party - rather too fast.
Contact was made, with a sickening crash bang wallop. Thankfully no one was hurt at all.
Debris settled. Mrs C gets out, thinking that there would be a frightful mess where there used to be a radiator grille etc. Rings husband (standard default action in situations such as this and wholly to be encouraged) for instructions. Told to take lots of pics with the camera in the glovebox, which she did.
Espace is a write off. Airbags all gone off, engine pushed back a few inches in the chassis. Front end not at all as Renault designed it. The G? One fog light smashed. Roo bar bent back a little (a simple matter of undoing the bolts and re aligning it). Right indicator bulb gone. Bottom of the number plate a bit chewed up. I knew they are tough, but I'm still impressed.
I'll check the tracking, but she drives beautifully. Anything else we should check?

Glad to hear everyone is safe! Photos of both please...or the espace at least...I know how tuff the G is.. :)
On one of the forums some one posted the results of his head on collision with his G and a lorry. He walked away unscathed. Though the G was a write off, it was still quite impressive considering what he hit and at what speed.
There are other images of a G that drove away from a head on collission with a 5 series BMW which was flatter than a pancake after the accident.
All in all a very safe car.
Maxwell. that G was in the States, it hit a concrete truck, I have the pic some where.
Mr C. pleased t hear no one hurt, lucky not to be carrying equine cargo.

Yup that is the one.... also the Russian G site has a whole gallery dedicated to wrecked Gs. From rolled to bullet holes to ones that ran over mines...
