number plate lights
has anyone done any modification on the number plate lights?
I have three hanging from the top of the plate with feston bulbs.
But they are all rattling and you cannot really tighten them because of the design. May be a LED alternative. I have found some LED waterproof ones fron newzeland designed for trailers, trying to locate a distributor in UK.
if you have trouble, go somewhere like BDC (if uve got a reg company) or a good electrical place, you can buy out door led's from them, and there must be a way of adapting them

A small tip;13 years agowhen i was living in cyprus i restored my first G and used the number plate lights off a MASSEY FERGUSON AND THEY ARE STILL ON THE G,I SAW IT AGAIN THIS SUMMER!!!!
SO HUSS you are saying:
1.460 series G wagens number plate lights are badly designed.
2.Massey Ferguson had a better design
3.I made you remember all these things you went through 20 years ago.
Funny enough I knew your G wagen in 1986 but not yourself. Fact is, it was the only G in Cyprus then!

I have ordered the LED light strip they are waterproof 52cm long
and will make a fantastic number plate light. I let you know and by the way
all those LED lights I have installed (i.e dash lights, interior dome, rear/brake,front side ) are absolutely faboulous.

I was true to my word about the massey ferguson number plate lights still being on my first G!
You know I asked that old man who has your old Blue swb,if he was interested in selling it. He smiled at me and said "This G wagen will follow me to my grave". He was so content and proud of the car.
But I am thinking now if I tell him he has Massey Ferguson num. plate lights on it, he might change . What do you say? :P

maplin is selling this water proof 40cm flexible led strip .I will check it tomorrow. For £18 it is a good solution
