NEW OR RECONDITIONED 617a.
Is it possible to get a 617a new or fully overhauled so it is warranted?I have a friend in cyprus with a project G.He wants to keep it absolutely original to fatory spec as it was first registered to north cyprus in 1983 by a main dealer in nicosia and was the first imported.He has asked me to get info from the forum.Cheers
It probably should. They guy who sold me my brand new engine less than a year ago has also at least three brand-new US-spec OM617As which lasted in his workshop less than a week! He told me that Mercedes is getting rid of these engines at heavily discounted prices (say € 4,000 rather than the listed € 10,000 per unit) because it figures that most of the cars that had this engine fitted are now heading for the scrapyard and nobody is going to spend that kind of cash in one engine.
My contact is desperate for more engines but he cannot unfortunately get hold of any more!
