Time to sort the fleet
There is a bit of work to be done on my fleet at present.
I have a 460 300GD LWB my offroader with a well worn gear box in need of replacement .( I love driving it and prefure a LWB for laning )
a very tidy 460 300GD AUTO LWB with a leak main oil seal leak .
a 460 300GD turbo SWB with a rough body old springs and a broken rear shock after last weekend :D but the engine and box are in fine condition .
This is the plan that starts next weekend at Bills and carrys on till its done :D
.
Remove the engine from the tidy 300GD and fit the turbo engine from the SWB finishing up with a very tidy 460 300GD turbo auto nine seater .
Remove the four speed box from my 300GD Green laner and fit a five speed box and all the linkage that go with it plus some other jobs whil im at it ending up with a useable capable green laner .
plus a load of other spares to keep the beastys alive
photos to follow ,
wish me luck

this comment has just been sitting in my head while the football is on. i think im going to have to explain to any partner in the future that i could be wasting over a thousand pounds a year (easily) watching men run about in shorts and surely that investing in a vehicle for family outings is a much better idea. you also wont be boring her with tedious stats and complicated foreign names
Tom
p.s if anyone tries this and her in doors hold a temper, i hold no responsibilty!
yep , im a lucky man .

COS ITS BLOODY JUICY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Sounds good though. If nothing else, i'll die skint, but with a big smile.
the beast is mean!
i would have had it peter, but couldnt convince her!
well not when i have;
clk55cabrio
vito 110 cdi(not for long though,hartepoole here i come!!!)
G300D cabrio.
Tell us more about the beast peter.whats it like in comparison to the 280GE on/off road?Anyhow enjoy your unique G mate.
my little ol 280 was great, and still is, sits in a barn ready for the chop into a competition off roader, has done for the last 3 years. Buts thats on hold until I get this one out of my system. Big V8 are great, but you have to be careful though, can break shafts if you get to excited.
ENJOY!!
The work has started ,
both engines and boxes out
many thanks to Bill Moss for the use of his workshop and tips and hits to make the job go that bit easyer , cheers mate :D .
Anyway thats the easy bit out of the way next weekend and beyond the work starts on the doner G and the rebuilds :D...
